This category includes EHS professionals involved in EHS (NPI) development, individuals responsible for customer or industry engagement, and EHS professionals working at customer sites or projects (typically not managing teams of EHS professionals or regions).
Responsible for planning/execution of department operations or focuses on carrying out professional activities within a technical discipline. Has some autonomy, but is guided by established guidelines or review of end results. The role allows for the modification of work processes and practices as long as end results meet acceptance standards (quality, scope, timeliness, etc.).

Responsibilities:
- Main contact person in the region. Report to the regional EHS Head for Central Europe.
- Understand regulatory changes and trends and forecast their impact on the business.
- Promote the implementation of GE and regulatory EHS expectations in his/her regional activities, including on-site customer sites, as needed in workshops, etc.
- Actively support the regional EHS Head of his business in EHS matters.
- Ability to hire and train EHS managers for customer projects on-site covering multiple countries/projects, as well as lead multicultural organizations and teams.
- Main contact for the entire project operations team.
- Develop a close collaboration with the operations team in his/her area of responsibility and contribute to driving the expected EHS performance and culture in all processes.
- Establish the EHS operational rhythm and dynamics at the project customer site (accident calls, EHS reviews, etc.)
- Work closely with the EHS team of the business line and drive initiatives and measures of the business areas at the regional or global level.
- Support the consolidation of regional data for his/her business area.
- Coordinate the conduct of EHS training as needed.
- Coordinate investigations into various incidents with the regional EHS Head and ensure that accident and compliance investigations are conducted, documented, and reported as needed.
- Ensure that all internal and external EHS reports are completed correctly.
- Ensure that GE and legal requirements in his/her business area in the region are complied with.
- Conduct regular audits in your projects.
Requirements:
- Graduate degree in engineering, environmental sciences, safety management, or another EHS-related technical discipline from an accredited college/university is required.
- An undergraduate degree is preferred (national EHS accreditation is required).
- At least 5 years of experience in developing, implementing, and leading EHS programs focusing on business areas such as chemistry, electricity, refinery, electrification, onshore & offshore, or a similar industry sector.
- Sound knowledge and experience with key environmental regulatory and approval programs on topics such as air quality, water quality, handling hazardous chemicals, occupational safety, etc.
- Good knowledge and experience with basic health and safety programs, including but not limited to lockout-tagout, confined spaces, electrical safety, hazardous chemical/process safety, work permits, working at heights, etc.
- Experience with and knowledge of independent standards, organizations, and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
- Strong skills to influence and motivate executives and employees through cooperative engagement and building/maintaining relationships.
- Fluency in German and English.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to effectively convey information to a wide range of people and audiences as circumstances require.
- Ability to successfully manage and develop personnel at multiple locations.
- Ability to work in a team environment in a multi-site organization with diverse cultures.
