Senior Web Developer for Logistics Team at Auctionet
Auctionet is a marketplace where auction houses from Sweden, the UK, Finland, Spain, Germany and Denmark sell furniture, art, design items, collectibles and more. We are a small, tight-knit Product & Development team, and are now in search of our next Senior Web Developer for the Logistics team – helping to build the next generation of logistics systems at Auctionet!
About the workThe Logistics team is responsible for building the internal-facing logistics system that powers Auctionets shipping services. The ambition is to create the world's best auction marketplace, offering cost-efficient and reliable transport for buyers across the globe.
You will be working on building the next generation of logistics systems at Auctionet. This may include implementing algorithmic routing, building analytics dashboards to empower data-driven decision making and enabling cost-efficient transportation of items within our logistics network.
Our main stack is Elixir, with Phoenix LiveView and an event-driven architecture. We are self-hosted, managed by our own infrastructure team.
We work in cross-functional teams of developers, UX designers and product owners taking inspiration from the DDD movement and its practices. We take pride in working closely with stakeholders and domain experts, to ensure we create the best solution possible.
We often work as pairs, doing trunk-based development with continuous deployment, but try new approaches constantly and are not afraid to improve the process by changing things up.
We operate from our offices in central Stockholm and Malmö, with the option to work remotely. We value your well-being, offering flexible work hours, discouraging overtime, and encouraging full use of your Wellness Grant. You'll enjoy six weeks of paid vacation, along with a work phone and the computer of your choice to help you excel. Beyond supporting your lifestyle, we’re committed to your growth. That’s why we provide a generous budget and time allowance for attending conferences, code retreats, or courses, so you can continue learning and advancing your skills.
About you- We're looking for an experienced Elixir/Phoenix developer with an eye for detail who likes to take ownership over both big and small projects, and take them from start to production. You write clean, maintainable code that is well tested. We also believe you have:
- Experience: At least 5 years of professional web development experience.
- Good communication skills: You can explain complex concepts to both technical and non-technical co-workers.
- A team player mentality: You help others and ask for help when needed. We do a lot of pair programming!
- Passion: You take pride in your work and want to deliver code with high quality.
- A curious mindset: You are open to learning and sharing knowledge with others.
Due to the integrated nature of Phoenix you will work with both the front-end and back-end of the system.
Please note we are only accepting candidates resident in Sweden at this time. If that is you, apply now! Got questions? Reach out to our team anytime.
The interview processIn the interview process, we'll discuss some of your existing work, or a small take-home Elixir exercise, or we'll build a small feature inside our app. We don't do "gotcha" whiteboard interviews.
Who we areAuctionet was founded in 2011 by a team of people with unique experience of online auctions. Read more about Auctionet here. In 2021 Auctionet acquired the auction house Stockholms Auktionsverk, and we are now by far the largest auction marketplace in the Nordics, and one of the larger auction marketplaces in the world. With this acquisition, Auctionet owns and operates both the oldest auction house in the world (1674) and the second oldest (1681), which means we have been working with sustainability for 350(!) years. Join us in our mission to help new owners inspire new life into old items!
